Kiddy on day 66 of pregnancy here with her grand-daughter Gabrielle. As she was "preparing herself" so well to
give birth I went to bed that night at 1am only to be awakened 1,5hr later... Anyway I'm not complaining as birth is a moment I wouldn't miss for the world !
My sweet and Swedish boy Galak (Vildbacken's
Vurdalak) mated Kiddy mid-January, I still remember that day he became
a "man":-) (actually it was two days before I went to the vet clinic for Galvin's heartcheck to find out he had a subaortic stenosic).
I've heard more than once in the past that balinese boys (LH boys) usually behave better than SH boys and I am
quite happy to reinforce that opinion: Galak started to mate with females two months ago and he still doesn't spray at all whereas Vinou (SH siamese) on the other hand started to spray quite
severely even without knowing "how to do the thing"! Since he was neutered and as no female is calling right now he seems to have calmed down a little bit... let's hope he will go on that
trend!
Btw Galak and Vinou get along very well and live together with the other cats. I let most of my cats run and play together (except
females when pregnant and nursing) which can be dangerous if I don't notice quickly enough when a female starts calling and don't separate them (to avoid unplanned matings).
Well well well... I'm still talking a lot (ahem okay "too much") as usual but you would think somebody would have hacked into my
account if I wasn't, wouldn't you? ;-))))
Kiddy, Galak and I are veery pwoud to announce a new litter of 4 healthy
kittens♥
This should be a variant/balinese litter.. .
Until further notice there are 2 girls and 2 boys, 2 BAL and 2 variants.
I've named them already (temporary names if their sex was to change lol)... watching Kiddy give birth to
her kittens gave me plenty of time to think and take pictures :-)
The boys are Harvey Davidson + Harry Kasparov.
For those who might be wondering: Harley Davidson + Garry Kasparov.
Yes:
- I'm fond of motorcycles (= sitting on the back - I love the sensation of speed...)
- I love playing chess

updates - March 28, 2012
Harvey and Harry turn out to be females as well, their new names shall be Hedwig van
Beethoven (did I mention how much I love playing & listening to the piano) + Hayleigh Lujah (love the song Hallelujah)
Of course I'm keeping Harry and Harvey as names for boys of my forthcoming 2012 litters ;-)
****
The girls are Hayden Rose + Holly Moon.
Again here are some explanations: Maiden Rose + Honey Moon.
Maiden Rose is "an ongoing fictional war romance manga" (quoted from Wikipedia) that I actually never read but I
wanted "Hayden" to be part of the name and came across that "Maiden Rose" manga.
As for "Honey Moon" it does ring a bell to you, right? ;-)))
And yes I'm quite (very) fan of double names for my kittens :-)
Maybe because in Vietnam we use a lot of double names. My second name (my first name is a French one as I was born in France and
that my parents thought a Vietnamese name would often be mispronounced... and they were damn right, I never met a European person who managed to pronounce my name!) which is a Vietnamese one and
a double name too (I'm called "T.... A..." but anyway I have a nickname - Vietnamese people often use nicknames instead of official names).
I will soon write a new page to tell about yesterday's "fabulous" night (this amounts to saying my insomnia aren't going
to stop in a hurry...).
(>> page written, click here)
It's already my third litter with my Kiddy (I'm quite jealous she's mom for the third time while I only sit
watching her being a mom, longing to be a mother too and have tiny human babies of my own... *sighs*) and it looks like since the second litter she has been thinking that 2am in the
morning is the purrrfect time to start giving birth and wake me up...
It lasted 4 hours and all went almost perfectly well. "Almost" as we lost the last one. It was a female and I'm
pretty sure she was a balinese :-( I tried in vain to resuscitate her but I think she was dead already and was a stillborn kitten. It wasn't just some water in the lungs, she was all violet at
birth and I couldn't detect any heartbeat. Maybe with time I will react differently but I am quite ashamed to confess that yesterday I still tried during 1 hour to "wake her up" before I finally
gave up hope of saving the tiny little one...
I will also write new pages for Galak + Kamasutra + Gabrielle since I still haven't and they've been here with me for more
than just a while now! Actually I couldn't before because I first had to switch to a Premium account on OverBlog (because I have already reached the maximum number of pages that you can have with
a free and basic account and couldn't write any more pages...) and I didn't have (take) the time to do it before yesterday.
Since yesterday my new url has been www.balinesis.com :-) But you can
still find me at balinesis.over-blog.com I think there is an automatic redirection to the new address!
Now some pictures... Enjoy!
First kitten at birth... he was crying so loud that he woke me up.Thanks to him I did not miss the other births :-) This is
Harvey (Harvey Davidson) >> Hedwig van Beethoven
Born at 2.30a.m. - 97g
I think he's a variant (shorthair kitten carrying the LH copy of the gene for the hairlength)

This is a the first female, born at 3.10a.m. with Auntie Céline on the phone that I had woken up for the occasion :-) Having
breeders as friends is tiring lol!
105g, such a big kitten and the biggest in this litter btw:-)
I think she's a variant too. This is Holly (Holly Moon)
The third kitten is a boy, hopefully a balinese but I'm not sure.
He was born at 3.30 a.m. (96g)
This is Harry (Harry Kasparov) >> Hayleigh
Lujah

And last but not least, a girl, a balinese (but again I'm not sure). She made me wait and was born at 4.50 a.m. with 92g.
This is Hayden (Hayden Rose)
Sadly the last kitten (a bali female kitten) didn't make it, she was born at 6a.m.
Poor little soul, may you RIP...
Some family pictures now :-)
Kiddy and her newborn babies
1-day old kittens ♥
Aren't they irresistible?
Looking again at the kittens today I am a bit confused about their hairlengths AND genders....
Well -->> "Affaire à suivre" (to be continued...)
